Lethbridge resident suffers serious burns in house fire

LETHBRIDGE, AB – At approximately 12:28 pm on Wednesday, September 18th, firefighters were called to a home in the 100 block of 2nd Ave South.

The fire department says they did not see any visible flames when they first arrived and only light smoke.

“An occupant of the residence was discovered in the home and transported to Chinook Regional Hospital with serious burns,” reads a media release from Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services.

The fire has been deemed accidental.

Officials are warning the public to not use high-concentration oxygen tanks near open flames.
