Blood Tribe man dies after being run over on Hwy 2

Blood Reserve, AB – A Blood Tribe man is dead, after police say he was run over by a Bobcat vehicle on Highway 2. The type of vehicle/tractor was not specified.

Inspector Farica Syrette with the Blood Tribe Police says the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Monday (Sept. 30). Police were called out to the incident and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The operator of the Bobcat was arrested and taken into custody. He is facing a charge of impaired driving causing death. Blood Tribe Police say they will not release the name of the man even when he has been formally charged, however it will become a matter of public record.
