Construction work to cause delays on Crowsnest Trail this week

LETHBRIDGE, AB – UPDATE: The work has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Oct. 9 and Thursday, Oct. 10 due to snowfall in the forecast.

Commuters are advised of delays on Crowsnest Trail this week.

Alberta Transportation and Canadian Pacific Railway are set to conduct an urgent repair on Highway 3, also know as the Crowsnest Trail, between 28 Street and 30 Street.

According to the City of Lethbridge, the work is weather permitting and is slated to go as follows:

· Eastbound lanes to be closed on Tuesday, Oct. 8

· Westbound lanes to be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 9

· Both closures will reduce traffic to a single lane from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The City said the contractor Volker Stevin will be doing traffic control for the project. Signage will be put in place to let motorists know of the work and reduced speed limits that will be in effect.
