LETHBRIDGE — Patrol Officers had to use a little more force than usual Saturday (Oct 12) afternoon, after observing a Raymond man they knew was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants.

Around 3:45, the man was seen sitting in the passenger side of moving vehicle in the area of St. Edwards Boulevard North. An officer initiated a traffic stop in the 1200 block of 40 Avenue North and approached the suspect in the vehicle to advise him that he was under arrest due to outstanding warrants.

A brief altercation ensued and the suspect was tasered. However, the man broke free and ran from police. Officers were called in to flood the area, along with a K-9 team.

The suspect ran through several yards in the area before the K-9 team was able to catch up with him. Prior to his arrest, the man suffered minor injuries as a result of jumping over a fence and was transported to hospital where he remains at this time, in stable condition.

Clinton Brian Daniels, aged 44, faces one charge of resisting arrest and will be remanded in custody until a court appearance on October 17.

The investigation continues and anyone who witnessed this incident, or has any other information regarding the incident, is asked to contact police at 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
