Advance voting up 60% in southern Alberta

The following numbers were provided to LNN by Elections Canada Spokesperson Leanne Nyirfa.

Lethbridge:

Out of 88,226 people who are eligible to vote, 16,373 (18.55%) voted in advanced polls.

This is an increase of 58.25% from the 2015 federal election when 10,346 did so.

Over the last four years, the number of eligible voters rose by 4.7%.

Bow River:

Out of 78,994 people who are eligible to vote, 15,359 (19.44%) voted in advanced polls.

This is an increase of 74.27% from the 2015 federal election when 8.813 did so.

Over the last four years, the number of eligible voters rose by 3.87%.

Foothills:

Out of 86,207 people who are eligible to vote, 22,029 (25.55%) voted in advanced polls.

This is an increase of 59.81% from the 2015 federal election when 13,783 did so.

Over the last four years, the number of eligible voters rose by 3.11%.

Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner:

Out of 78,384 people who are eligible to vote, 11,934 (15.22%) voted in advanced polls.

This is an increase of 46.93% from the 2015 federal election when 8,122 did so.

Over the last four years, the number of eligible voters rose by 0.74%.
