Two men arrested in robbery at Park Place Mall parking lot

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A man reported to Lethbridge Police that he had been bear sprayed and robbed in the Park Place Mall parking lot near the Winners entrance.

Police were called at 9:23 pm on Tuesday, November 5th.

The victim said he was cleaning snow off of his car when he was approached by two black males who demanded his wallet.

One of the suspects reportedly used bear spray on the victim. The victim managed to get away in his vehicle and call police.

A second victim was sitting in the front passenger seat of a nearby car and was approached by the same two men, who allegedly demanded his cell phone. The second victim got away as well.

Neither victims were injured nor required medical attention.

The suspects were found at the McDonald’s on Scenic Drive South and a can of pepper spray was recovered from one of them.

Chance Tristan Bennett, 21, of Calgary, is charged with two counts of robbery. He was released on November 6th and is set to appear in court on November 13th.

Bak Madut Nyang, 20, of Medicine Hat, is charged with two counts of robbery. He was released on November 6th and is set to appear in court on November 13th.
