Lethbridge Lightning game a wash-out due to hole in the ice
NANTON, AB – It certainly wasn’t a normal ending to a hockey game.
During the Lethbridge Lightning’s game against Nanton at the Tom Hornbecker Arena on Saturday, Nov. 30, play was stopped about 13 minutes into the first period.
The Lightning were going into their first power play of the night, with the score at 0-0, when referees were made aware of a “gaping hole” in the ice behind the Nanton net.
Officials spoke with staff at the arena, who determined that the ice was irreparable. For the safety of the players, the game was washed out.
