CRANFORD, AB – Three people were involved in a single vehicle collision Monday evening.

The M.D. of Taber Regional Fire Service – Station 4 & 7 Taber/Barnwell responded to Highway 3 near Range Road 18-1, just east of Cranford, at 7:23 p.m.

According to the Fire Service, they found three people trapped in an overturned vehicle. All three were extricated from the vehicle, which had flipped multiple times before landing on its side.

Alberta Health Services EMS examined all three. Two of the people involved were released to family members at the scene, while the third was taken to hospital in Lethbridge.

The Fire Service said RCMP is investigating and the scene was cleared a few short hours later.

They added that roads are “more slippery than they look” and are asking drivers to slow down.

Coaldale and Taber RCMP echoed that statement, sending out a note Tuesday morning asking motorists on Highway 3 in the Barnwell area to slow down due to black ice and “numerous collisions” in the area.
