DENNIS ANDREW DE BOER, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Linda De Boer, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the age of 75 years.
Besides his loving wife of 54 years, he will be deeply missed by his son, Peter (Cheryl) De Boer, and his daughter, Lisa (Steve) Visser. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Ren (Kelsey) Visser, Jordan (Brayden) Gunness, Brett Visser, and Taylor De Boer.
Dennis is also survived by his three sisters and their families, Shirley (Bert) Konynenbelt, Lorraine (Marvin) Vandervalk, and Barb (Allen) Nauta; his special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mel and Jean Irwin; as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Dorothy De Boer.
Dennis was a general foreman at Canada Packers for 25 years, until the plant closed. He loved hunting and fishing up until his health got poor, but he always had lots of stories to tell about his hunting trips. He had a basement full of trophies and mounts to show his love of the sport. He also enjoyed going for coffee with his ‘coffee buddies.’
Dennis loved taking his grandchildren fishing and camping—making lots of happy memories for them. As a grandpa, he lived for his grandchildren; he was their biggest fan and was immensely proud of all of their accomplishments.
We will all miss Dennis dearly.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor John Moerman officiating.
