U of L and Lethbridge College Weekend Sports Preview: January 10-12, 2020

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge College Kodiaks athletes are back at it this weekend after their holiday break. The U of L Pronghorns are also busy, after starting off the second half of their seasons last week.

LETHBRIDGE COLLEGE KODIAKS

The women’s basketball team was in Medicine Hat last night (Jan. 9). It was a tough start to 2020 for the Kodiaks as they lost 53-51 to the Rattlers.

They’re up against Ambrose University next weekend in an away-and-home series.

The men’s basketball club also hit the Medicine Hat court last night. They snapped a two-game losing streak with a big 86-61 win.

Like the women’s team, the men face Ambrose University in an away-and-home stretch next weekend.

The women’s volleyball squad is in Red Deer against Red Deer College tonight (Jan. 10) at 6:00 p.m. and tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. The team is looking to snap a tough eight-game losing streak.

The men’s volleyball team is riding a two-game win streak in conference play. They’re also on the road against Red Deer College tonight at 8:00 p.m. and tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.

U OF L PRONGHORNS

The men’s basketball team was in Calgary against the U of C Dinos last night (Jan. 9). Unfortunately for the Pronghorns, they lost 105-90.

It’s a rematch with the Dinos, this time in Lethbridge, tomorrow (Jan. 11) at 7:00 p.m.

The women’s team also squared off with the University of Calgary last evening. They lost 74-66.

Like the men, the women’s team will face the Dinos in a rematch tomorrow, at 5:00 p.m.

The women’s hockey team, coming off a loss against the University of Regina on January 4, will face the University of Saskatchewan in a back-to-back in Saskatoon, starting tonight at 7:00 p.m. Tomorrow’s matchup is also set for 7 o’clock.

The men’s hockey team is on home ice against the University of Saskatchewan. Game time in Lethbridge tonight is 7:00 p.m., with tomorrow’s game set for 7:00 p.m. as well.
