Canes earn resounding 7-2 win over Swift Current
LETHBRIDGE — With the first win of the New Year notched on their sticks during Friday’s night’s 4-2 romp over the Hitmen, the Hurricanes were looking for another win Saturday (Jan 11) night when they hosted Swift Current.
The Canes went on to own the game with goals at regular intervals.
Koletrane Wilson opened the scoring at 3:38 with a short-handed goal off an assist from Justin Hall and Ty Prefontaine. Just over three minutes later, Danila Palivko and Jett Jones set up Zack Stringer for his sixth goal of the season.
At mid-point in the period Zack Stringer partnered with Koletrane Wilson and managed to slip the puck through a scrum in front of the Broncos net to Chase Wheatcroft. The teamwork produced a 3-0 lead for the Canes through the first 20-minutes of play.
