“Tire Guy” pleads guilty to 10 offences involving more than $274,000 in stolen goods
LETHBRIDGE, AB – For nearly three years, Patrick Francois Rouillard would rent a U-Haul truck on various occasions and visit businesses in Lethbridge, Taber, Red Deer, Leduc and Wetaskiwin.
But according to an Agreed Statement of Facts (ASF) read by the Crown in Lethbridge Provincial Court last week, those “visits” spanning from March 2016, until late October 2018, would include cutting locks and holes in fences to gain access to the properties, to take hundreds of thousands of dollars in tires and rims.
Rouillard has pleaded guilty to 10 charges including two counts of theft over $5,000, shop breaking and trafficking in property obtained by crime.
In total, $274,454 in tires and rims were taken from Murray Chevrolet, Rocky Mountain Equipment,Schwab Pontiac Buick, Legacy Dodge, Ultimate Auto Care and OK Tire. The information read in court also states that Rouillard would either sell the items to car companies, or online through his “Tire Guy” Kijiji account.
