A mainstay of the Greeting Card industry to close its stores

LETHBRIDGE –– It’s self-styled as “Canada’s #1 greeting card company”.
A Carlton Cards store manager has confirmed Carlton and Papyrus will be closing all of its stores in North American. That includes 178 locations in the U.S. and 76 stores in Canada, which employ about 1,400 people.
A call to the Carlton store in Park Place Mall in Lethbridge, confirms the store will be closed within a week. Other Carlton stores will be shuttered over four to six weeks.
The store-front demise is attributed to changing shopping habits.
