Taber police looking for suspect in hit-and-run with pedestrian

A pedestrian in Taber was injured over the weekend after being struck by a vehicle.

According to Taber Police Service (TPS), the collision happened at approximately 6:15 pm on Saturday, February 1 at the intersection of 51 Street and 50 Ave.

They report that the pedestrian was crossing the road at the crosswalk when they were hit by a westbound vehicle.

The driver allegedly fled the area with the front passenger side of the vehicle being dented.

“The pedestrian was assessed by ambulance personnel and transported to the Lethbridge hospital for treatment of various injuries,” reads a statement from TPS.

The vehicle of interest has been described as a dark Ford Explorer SUV or a Sport Trac light truck. There is no description of the suspect at this time.
