$17,600 in drugs and cash confiscated in Lethbridge arrest

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A Lethbridge man is facing several charges after being apprehended by police on Tuesday, February 4.

Following a brief investigation by Lethbridge Police Service’s (LPS) Crime Suppression Team, officers and members of the K9 unit attended the Travelodge on the 1000 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South and executed a search warrant on one of the rooms.

A man and a woman, who were both wanted on outstanding warrants, were found inside and were arrested without incident.

LPA claims the man was in possession of methamphetamine, carfentanil, and crack cocaine. The drugs combined are said to have a street value of more than $10,300.

Police also reported that they seized a can of pepper spray, brass knuckles, drug paraphernalia, and more than $7,300 in cash.

Kevin Paul Rabeau, 37, of Lethbridge, is charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of knowingly possessing a prohibited/restricted weapon, two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon, and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.

Rabeau will remain in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday, February 7.

No additional charges were laid for the woman.
