U.S. opens eyes about COVID-19
After originally being dismissive of the Coronavirus and claiming his country’s medical system has everything under control, U.S. President Donald Trump has finally begun to take the situation seriously.
Trump sat down in the Oval Office to address his nation on Wednesday (Mar 11), to inform his country that all travel between the U.S. and Europe was being suspended for 30 days, beginning on Friday. The United Kingdom is exempted.
This, after Italy completely shut down.
Trump said he was also directing agencies to provide unspecified financial relief for “for workers who are ill, quarantined or caring for others due to coronavirus,” and asked Congress to take action to extend it.
