LETHBRIDGE, AB – UPDATE: Exhibition Park has postponed the upcoming Home and Garden Show. A new date has not yet been set.

“Based on recent information provided by the province of Alberta, requesting the discontinuation of gatherings over 250 people and with the health and safety of our guests, staff, and partners as a top priority, we are postponing the Home and Garden Show,” reads a statement from Exhibition Park.

The group will take the next few days to determine the next steps for all upcoming events.

Exhibition Park says they are not planning on cancelling or postponing any of their planned events at this time.

A statement was issued by Chief Operating Officer Mike Warkentin Thursday in response to the growing COVID-19 pandemic.

“We understand that major international gatherings have been postponed, cancelled or altered in light of this Pandemic. As of today, we plan to continue with all planned activities here at the Park including, but not limited to the 2020 Home & Garden Show.”

The group will continue to monitor the situation closely and will adhere to all recommendations from Alberta Health Services (AHS).

“According to AHS, the risk to Albertans continues to remain low, with no current cases confirmed in the southern Alberta region. At the moment, there is no evidence of community spread and the best recommendation to avoid contracting COVID-19 is by practicing proper hygiene, including continually washing your hands.”

At the same time, Exhibition Park will be introducing measures to limit the spread of the infection.

  • Enhanced cleaning protocols – Increasing the frequency and staffing of the cleaning crews, ensuring washrooms are continuously stocked and cleaned
  • Additional antibacterial protocols – Adding more antibacterial product locations and ensuring they are clearly marked
