Three people arrested during north Lethbridge drug seizure

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police Service’s (LPS) Crime Suppression Team arrested three people on Wednesday, March 11.

They were working with the Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) Unit to investigate drug trafficking activity at a home on Stafford Road North.

During the investigation, officers claim to have seen an occupant operating a “dial-a-dope operation” out of a vehicle associated with the residence.

Police obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and the home, intercepting the vehicle after it met in a north side parking lot for a transaction.

“The driver of the first vehicle was found in possession of 16 cartons of non-duty paid cigarettes and more than $1500 cash. She was arrested along with a female passenger,” reads a media release from LPS. “The driver of the second vehicle was found in possession of more than $500 cash received from the purchase of the cigarettes.”

In the vehicle, police say they also found methamphetamine, various narcotic pills including hydromorph contin, morphine, codeine, and a cell phone.

A search of the home lead to the seizure of meth, fentanyl, psilocybin, various pills in containers, buffing agent, bear spray, and drug paraphernalia.

Cindy Ann Androkovich, 45, of Lethbridge, faces 17 charges including five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking as well as possession of break-in instruments and possession of less than 2,000 cigarettes/grams of tobacco. Androkovich was released from custody on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on April 16.

Kamal Marie Oka, 48, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and was found to have outstanding warrants. Oka was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 23.

Crystal Ann-Marie Shaw, 36, of Barons, is charged under the Tobacco Act with selling/offering sale less than 1,000 cigarettes/grams of tobacco. Shaw was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 5.
