Lethbridge woman charged in liquor store robbery

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A 28-year-old Lethbridge woman has been charged in connection with a robbery.

Lethbridge Police say that on March 22, at around 8:15 p.m., the woman entered Friday’s Liquor along the 200 block of 13 Street North with her face masked. The suspect proceeded to take multiple bottles of liquor, then left the store.

LPS says that when she was confronted by the female clerk, she punched the employee in the face before fleeing the scene on foot.

A K9 track by PSD Zap was conducted and led to a group of people, which included the suspect, a short distance away. The female was arrested by police without incident.

Sharise Marie-Ann Smith is charged with robbery, disguised with intent and breach of a release order. Smith was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on June 25, 2020.
