Police charge two individuals with drug trafficking offences in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Two people have been charged with drug trafficking offences.

Lethbridge Police say that on April 8, members of the Crime Suppression Team started a short-term investigation into drug trafficking activity connected to a home along the 2100 block of 15 Ave. North.

According to LPS, officers spotted a vehicle leaving the home and conducting a drug transaction.

Upon returning to the residence, a male and female were arrested without incident as they left the vehicle. During a search, police seized over 65 grams of methamphetamine, $2,500 in cash and a knife.

LPS states that the street value of the methamphetamine is estimated at $6,500.

22-year-old Angel Rose Andre, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime under $5,000.

Meanwhile, 34-year-old Steven Kenneth Klein, also of Lethbridge, faces those same charges, as well as suspended driving and three counts of breaching an undertaking.

As of this publication, Klein is in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing and Andre was released on an undertaking to appear in court on June 26, 2020.
