Weekend traffic stop in Claresholm results in drug charges

CLARESHOLM, AB. – An RCMP traffic stop on Sunday (April 12) afternoon produced charges against an 18-year old.

Around 5:45 pm, RCMP conducted a traffic stop on 8th Street west in Claresholm. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Jacob Peddle, was arrested and held for investigation.

Officers conducted a search and seized 30 grams of cocaine, 16 grams of methamphetamine (crystal meth), various drug trafficking items and paraphernalia.

Peddle is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking both cocaine and methamphetamine and will appear in Fort Macleod court on August 5.
