Next phase of University Drive twinning project set to start May 19

LETHBRIDGE, AB – New details have been announced regarding the University Drive twinning project.

The next phase of the work is set to start on Tuesday, May 19, weather permitting.

The City of Lethbridge says both lanes of traffic on RiverGlen Link West, east of the SunRidge roundabout, will be closed for this phase of construction.

Crews will be expanding the roundabout to two lanes.

A pedestrian detour will be in place to keep workers and the community safe. This phase of the project is anticipated to last until the end of the day on Saturday, May 23 – weather permitting.

University Drive West is being twinned from north of Stadium Drive West to south of SunRidge Boulevard West to increase the roadway’s capacity for handling rising traffic volumes.

Future stages of the work will involve additional partial intersection closures. More details on the twinning project can be found at the City of Lethbridge’s website.
