LETHBRIDGE COUNTY, AB – The Lethbridge administration office of Lethbridge County will be reopened to the public on Monday, June 1.

The facility has been closed off since March 15 in response to COVID-19.

Lethbridge County says it’s implementing several procedures and guidelines to ensure the safety of the general public and staff.

· Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 must not visit the office.

· The office will be limited to a max. of three non-employees in the reception area at any time. If three non-employees are in the office during arrival, people are asked to remain outside.

· It is recommended that only one person per family enter the County office to conduct business.

· Tele-conference or video-conference tools are encouraged for meetings with staff. In-person meetings will be held by appointment only, which can be scheduled by calling the employee directly or phoning the main office line at 403-328-5525. Visitors arriving for a meeting will be required to sign in at reception to allow for enhanced contact tracing in the event of a positive COVID-19 test result. The sign-in portal will be sanitized after each use.

· Meeting rooms will remain closed to the public, and no external bookings are being permitted at this time.

· Physical distancing measures are available for protection during staff-public interactions.

· Visitors are being asked to comply with all Alberta Health guidelines relative to social distancing and proper hygiene. Two-metre social distancing markers have been set up for visitor safety, and washrooms facilities are not open to the public at this time.

· Remote payment is encouraged instead of in-person payments. Some options include mailing a cheque or money order, or through your financial institution.

· External contractors will be limited to essential services for County operations and will also be required to sign in prior to entry into the office.

· Council meetings will continue as scheduled. However, they will remain closed to the public as gatherings of 15 people or more are not permitted. Meetings will be live streamed on the Lethbridge County Facebook page. The public can continue to provide input at public hearings by email or by telephone.

“Lethbridge County thanks citizens and stakeholders for their patience over the past two months while staff have worked to ensure that municipal services continued to be delivered while navigating the challenges the pandemic has presented,” the County said in a statement to the public.

The County noted that their Picture Butte and Coaldale offices will remain closed to the public.
