Residential fire results in $20,000 damage

LETHBRIDGE, AB. — Lethbridge crews were called to a residential fire at a duplex in the 3800 block of 20 Avenue South at around 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Two stations responded to the home and extinguished the fire on the balcony. An individual was spraying the fire with a garden hose which helped prevent spread and kept damage to $20,000.
There were no injuries reported and total damages are estimated at $20,000.
Fire investigators determined the the most likely cause for the fire was improperly extinguished smoking material.
