Two new COVID-19 cases confirmed in West Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Government of Alberta has released its report on COVID-19 for Friday, June 26.

38 new infections were confirmed provincially, bringing the total to 7,888. Of those, 509 cases are still active and 7,225 people have recovered.

That includes just two new cases in the South Health Zone, both of which are in West Lethbridge.

No additional deaths were reported, leaving the number to date for Alberta at 154.

The regional breakdown is as follows:

  • Calgary zone – 5,253 cases, 208 active
    • 112 deaths
    • 164,575 tests
  • South Zone – 1,293 cases, 23 active
    • 10 deaths
    • 27,999 tests
  • Edmonton zone – 944 cases, 241 active
    • 15 deaths
    • 115,974 tests
  • North zone – 293 cases, 31 active
    • 16 deaths
    • 29,841 tests
  • Central zone – 90 cases, three active
    • One death
    • 28,662 tests

As for the breakdown for the South Health Zone, the province recently changed the way they display information on the geospatial map, which is how we get the information for this. Due to this change, some of the local numbers may be off from what we have previously reported.

  • Brooks – 1,119 cases, three active, nine deaths
  • Lethbridge – 40 cases (two new), seven active
    • West Lethbridge – 17 cases (two new), three active
    • South Lethbridge – 14 cases, zero active
    • North Lethbridge – nine cases, four active
  • Cardston County – 39 cases, eight active, one death
  • Medicine Hat – 38 cases, two active
  • Cypress County – 21 cases, zero active
  • County of Newell – 20 cases, zero active
  • Fort Macleod – seven cases, one active
  • Lethbridge County – Three cases, one active
  • M.D. of Taber – Two cases, zero active
  • County of Forty Mile – Two cases, zero active
  • County of Warner – One case, one active
