71 new COVID-19 infections in Alberta Monday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Alberta Health Services COVID-19 report for Monday, June 29, shows 71 new provincial infections, bringing the total to 8,067 – 559 cases are still active and 7,354 people have recovered.

No additional deaths were reported, leaving the number to date for Alberta at 154.

The South Zone recorded three new cases.

The regional breakdown is as follows:

Calgary zone – 5,332 cases, 239 active

  • 112 deaths
  • 164,575 tests

South Zone – 1,305 cases, 26 active

  • 10 deaths
  • 27,999 tests

Edmonton zone – 1,017 cases, 257 active

  • 15 deaths
  • 115,974 tests

North zone – 306 cases, 32 active

  • 16 deaths
  • 29,841 tests

Central zone – 92 cases, four active

  • One death
  • 28,662 tests

As for the breakdown for the South Health Zone, the province recently changed the way they display information on the geospatial map, which is how we get the information. Due to this change, some of the local numbers may be off from what we have previously reported.

Brooks – 1,119 cases, two, nine deaths

Lethbridge – 43 cases, 8 active

  • West Lethbridge – 20 cases, six active
  • South Lethbridge – 14 cases, zero active
  • North Lethbridge – 9 cases, two active

Cardston County – 40 cases, (one new) eight active, one death

Medicine Hat – 41 cases, four active

Cypress County – 21 cases, zero active

County of Newell – 20 cases, zero active

Fort Macleod – seven cases, one active

Lethbridge County – Three cases, zero active

M.D. of Taber – Seven cases, five active

County of Forty Mile – Two cases, zero active

County of Warner – One case, one active
