Two new COVID-19 cases in West Lethbridge Tuesday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Government of Alberta has released its report on COVID-19 for Tuesday, July 7.

47 new cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 8,436. Of those, 620 cases are still active while 7,659 people have recovered.

This includes just two infections in the South Health Zone, both of which were in West Lethbridge.

Another two people in the Edmonton zone died as a result of the virus, taking the total to date to 157.

54 Albertans are currently hospitalized as well as six who have been admitted to intensive care units (ICU).

493,935 tests for COVID-19 have been completed.

The regional breakdown for COVID-19 in Alberta is a follows:

  • Calgary zone – 5,452 cases, 230 active
    • 112 deaths
    • 185,192 tests
  • South zone – 1,375 cases, 86 active
    • 11 deaths
    • 31,274 tests
  • Edmonton zone – 1,157 cases, 243 active
    • 17 deaths (two new)
    • 140,236 tests
  • North zone – 340 cases, 51 active
    • 16 deaths
    • 34,791 tests
  • Central zone – 93 cases, four active
    • One death
    • 32,108 tests

The breakdown for the South Health Zone by community is as follows:

  • Brooks – 1,119 cases, one active, nine deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 49 cases, 10 active, one death
  • Lethbridge – 48 cases (two new), 11 active
    • West Lethbridge – 22 cases (two new), seven active
    • South Lethbridge – 16 cases, two active
    • North Lethbridge – 10 cases, two active
  • County of Warner – 41 cases, 41 active
  • Cardston County – 41 cases, three active, one death
  • Cypress County – 29 cases, eight active
  • County of Newell – 21 cases, one active
  • M.D. of Taber – 12 cases, nine active
  • Fort Macleod – Seven cases, zero active
  • County of Forty Mile – Four cases, two active
  • Lethbridge County – Three cases, zero active
