$95 million announced to support businesses in western Canada
OTTAWA, ON – Businesses across western Canada are getting a boost from the federal government.
On Tuesday, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages, and the minister responsible for Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD), Mélanie Joly announced $95 million to support businesses of all sizes in the west.
The funding comes from the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund (RRRF).
Joly said the interest-free repayable contributions will help over 1,760 businesses that were not able to obtain access to existing federal relief measures. She added the funding will support around 7,000 in Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Manitoba.
