Death of teenager on Piikani Nation believed to be a homicide

PIIKANI NATION, AB – Police are looking into the “suspicious” death of a local teenager who had previously been reported missing.

Tregan Crow Eagle, 16, was last seen on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, and was found deceased on Monday, July 27.

An autopsy was conducted at the Office of the Medical Examiner in Calgary on July 29 after Piikani Nation RCMP deemed the death suspicious.

Medical officials say the death was the result of a homicide.

“Additional details are not available at this time as this is an ongoing investigation; however, an update will be provided when further information becomes available,” reads a media release from Piikani Nation RCMP.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit is asking for the public to come forward with any information they might have on this case.
