LETHBRIDGE, AB – Two men have been charged by Lethbridge Police following the seizure of drugs, firearms and cash.

LPS say that on August 10, just before 5:00 p.m., members of the Crime Suppression Team observed a man, known to have outstanding warrants, leave a residence along the 200 block of 14 Street North with a second man.

Police say a drug transaction was seen a short distance away and the men later went to Park Place Mall in Lethbridge. There, both men were arrested without incident, one in the washroom and the other in the mall’s food court.

Officers searched the washroom, where LPS say fentanyl and methamphetamine were seized, hidden in a stall. A warrant was subsequently obtained for the north side home.

At the residence, police say they found additional quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with a 12-gauge shotgun with the serial number ground down, more than $27,000 in cash, two cans of bear spray and assorted stolen property.

Some of those items included bikes, tools and tires. In total, LPS say 76.5 grams of methamphetamine and 53 grams of fentanyl – worth about $15,190, was seized from the home and washroom at Park Place Mall.
