Fire bans implemented in several Alberta provincial parks

LETHBRIDGE, AB – If you were hoping to light a campfire this weekend, you should probably check with Alberta Parks first.

Fire bans are now in effect for 24 provincial parks, most of which were just implemented Friday.

This means that all open fires, including campfires and charcoal briquettes, are prohibited.

You can still use designated fire pits and gas/propane stove, and barbeques designed for cooking or heating.

55 other provincial parks have fire restrictions that prohibit the use of grills outside of designated fire pits, turkey fryers, and Tiki torches.
