LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge is relaxing some rules when it comes to physical distancing requirements in ice arenas.

Starting Tuesday, September 1, a maximum of 50 spectators will be permitted for each ice session.

Spectators must wear face masks at all times inside the arena. They will be assigned rotating zones for each session so the unused area can be cleaned.

The ice arenas at the ATB Centre and Nicholas Sheran are open for bookings by organizations or established groups. Opening dates for the other arenas are as follows:

  • September 8 – Logan Boulet Arena
  • September 21 – Labor Club Ice Centre
  • September 25 – Civic Ice Centre
  • September 26 – Henderson Ice Centre

Public skating is expected to resume in October. Schedules will be posted in early September on the city’s website.

Note: This story has been updated. The City of Lethbridge issued a correction to their statement regarding the number of spectators allowed in ice arenas.
