EDMONTON, AB – As wildfires continue to ravage parts of the United States, Alberta firefighters are setting out to help.

Alberta Wildfire has announced that 45 crew members from the province are travelling to Oregon this week to assist in the fight against the massive fires.

“They will be following strict COVID-19 protocols in the U.S. and once they return,” Alberta Wildfire stated on social media.

“When possible, Alberta Wildfire is happy to assist national and international partners through our resource-sharing agreements.”

On Monday, Environment Canada warned of air quality advisories for many parts of British Columbia and southwestern Alberta due to wildfires in the U.S.
