LETHBRIDGE, AB– Two local food banks hosted the FEED Lethbridge fundraiser.

The Interfaith Food Bank and the Lethbridge Food Bank held there first annual city-wide dinner party on September 25, and it was a huge success in their eyes.

This was the first year the event is going on and since COVID-19 has put a pause on plans, the event was bigger than they expected.

Also, the event allowed people to purchase dinner packages, participate in online auctions, and 50/50 raffle.

Executive Director of the Lethbridge Food Bank Society, Maral Kiani Tari says she’s thankful for all the support.

“We want to put the emphasis on the fact that we’re truly for all the sponsors, donors, as well as participants and we, wanted to kind of have a dinner party that’s fun and safe and we’re hoping to be able to do this in the future as well.”

The two food banks want to thank the sponsors that made this event a success.

Speaking to Kiani Tari, the event didn’t really have any expectations since it is the first year it’s been put on.

Kiani Tari says the support even through the pandemic was great, and moving forward it shows the potential this event has.
