Annual Rotary Roses campaign sets new record

Oct 8, 2020 | 11:32 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – It was a record year for the Rotary Roses campaign.

The fundraising initiative is organized by the Rotary Club of Lethbridge East. Resident can purchase a bouquet of roses for a special someone in their lives.

In early fall, the club sells tickets for roses by the dozen, which are delivered by Rotarians the Thursday before the Thanksgiving holiday.

This year, there will be 616 dozen delivered.

“Thanks to the many who support this campaign, this is a very gratifying project in multiple ways: the smiles on the faces [are] often quite happily surprised recipients – the teamwork on delivery day – and the financial support we can provide as all the funds raised are applied to support groups or projects in our community,” the Rotary Club stated.

The flowers are handed out to people in Lethbridge, Coalhurst and Coaldale.
