Fire ban lifted in Lethbridge County

Oct 14, 2020 | 12:26 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Residents of Lethbridge County are once again allowed to have some types of fires, assuming they have an approved permit.

The County has lifted the fire ban that was first issued on August 17.

Due to cooler temperatures and recent precipitation, the fire risk in the area has decreased.

As part of Bylaw #1424, residents are required to have an approved permit for any kind of burning. More details here.

Lethbridge County advises, however, that if conditions worsen, fire restrictions or bans could be re-implemented at any time.

As for the City of Lethbridge, the fire ban for the river valley is still in effect.

You can learn about fire restrictions across the province on the Alberta Fire Bans website.
