Additional COVID cases identified at two Lethbridge Catholic schools

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Holy Spirit Catholic School Division has identified three new COVID-19 infections at two local schools.

Communications Coordinator Anisha Gatner told LNN that two cases have been identified at Ecole St. Mary and one at St. Francis Junior High.

“We are reassured that these cases are NOT the result of in-school transmission and are instead associated with cases outside of the school community. We continue to work closely with Alberta Health Services (AHS) and Alberta Education to ensure the safety of our students and staff,” reads a statement from Holy Spirit.

All close contacts have been informed of the situation and are isolating as per the requirements of AHS.

With positive tests identified at St. Teresa of Calcutta School as well, there are nine active cases in the Holy Spirit Division as of Thursday, October 22.
