LETHBRIDGE, AB – UPDATE (11/01/2020): The Holy Spirit Catholic School Division has confirmed two additional cases of COVID-19 at Catholic Central High School.

“We are reassured that these cases are NOT the result of in-school transmission and are instead associated with cases outside of the school community,” the division stated Sunday evening, November 1.

“All close contacts have been informed and are required to isolate while following the directives provided by Alberta Health Services (AHS). Out of respect for those impacted and in accordance with AHS guidelines, further details about members of the community who may test positive for COVID-19 cannot be disclosed.”

As of November 1, the division has six active infections at two school sites (Catholic Central, and St. Catherine School in Picture Butte), requiring the isolation of about 90 staff and students.
