Pronghorns Athletics temporarily suspends all activities due to COVID-19 case

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The University of Lethbridge’s sports teams are taking a break after a member of Pronghorn Athletics tested positive for COVID-19.

“Out of an abundance of caution and care for the entire Pronghorn Athletics family and the University of Lethbridge community, Pronghorn Athletics has suspended all team activities throughout its program until further notice,” reads a statement from the U of L.

The affected person has not been with their team since first experiencing symptoms on Monday, November 2. They immediately entered self-isolation and followed both Alberta Health Services and Pronghorns protocols.

It was not specified if the person was a student-athlete, coach, or in another related position.

“Pronghorn Athletics is committed to providing a safe environment for all student-athletes and is diligent in promoting specific protocols to its student-athlete cohorts. Pronghorn Athletics will continue to work with AHS and within public health protocols moving forward and provide any necessary support to the affected team member and teammates.”
