Blood Tribe schools closed this week due to COVID-19

STANDOFF, AB – The Kainai Board of Education (KBE) says all of their schools will be closed from Monday, November 9 to Friday, November 13.

“We feel that we must be proactive to limit the transmission and spread of COVID-19 within our community,” reads a statement from KBE.

Essential district office employees such as superintendents, finance, human resources, and operations/maintenance will be in the office on an altered work schedule.

“Please abide by all COVID-19 safety protocols, wear a mask when in public and stay home if you are exhibiting any COVID-19 symptoms. If you need assistance, please call Blood Tribe Department of Health COVID-19 Health Line at 403-737-8411 or Health Link at 811.”

Due to issues with a recent Alberta Health Services data update, local COVID-19 statistics have not been available all week.
