Energy-efficient lighting coming to Taber’s Aquafun and Community centres
TABER, AB – Taber’s Aquafun Centre and Community Centre are receiving some lighting upgrades.
Thanks to grant funding from Farm Credit Canada’s AgriSpirit Fund and the Municipal Climate Change Action Centre (MCCAC), the facilities’ indoor, outdoor and emergency lighting will be upgraded to LED technology.
The Town of Taber says the annual energy savings at the Community Centre are estimated to be around 146,083 kWh/year, the equivalent to $17,530.01 in cost savings for the municipality.
The retrofit at the Aquafun Centre will save approximately 81,949 kWh/year and result in $9,833.90 cost savings annually.
