Metal monolith pops up in Lethbridge, then mysteriously disappears

LETHBRIDGE, AB – It disappeared just as mysteriously as it arrived.

A large metal monolith could be seen in Lethbridge Sunday, December 13. A monolith is a single large block made in the style of an obelisk or a geometric slab. By Monday morning, it had vanished.

It’s not known who set up the structure in Lethbridge or when exactly it was installed or how and when it disappeared.

It could be seen by pedestrians and motorists on the north side of Whoop-Up Drive, east of the Oldman River and just down the hill from the Galt Museum.

Over the last few weeks, monoliths have popped up and disappeared in remote locations across the United States and Europe. One popular theory is that the structure was set up by “otherworldly beings”, however, the main consensus is that they are simply art installations.

The City of Lethbridge told Lethbridge News Now they did not set up the metal monolith.
