EDMONTON, AB. — Alberta reported an estimated 1,100 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

That’s out of about 15,600 test results over the past 24 hours for a positivity rate of seven per cent.

Updated death and active case numbers were not provided.

A full update was not shared on Thursday because of the Christmas holiday.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s chief medical officer of health, said on Twitter that hospitalizations are “increasing” while ICU admissions are “stable.”
