Lethbridge Police welcome two new officers into the force

LETHBRIDGE, AB– The Lethbridge Police Service welcomed two additions to the family on Tuesday, without the proper introduction due to COVID.

Constable Gerrilee Boon and Constable Dayton Pagliericci were sworn in for 2021’s first Officer Graduation Ceremony after completing their training.

Both graduated from the Cadet program in 2019 and served the LPS in the role of Community Peace Officers.

The ceremony was less formal and smaller than usual, as COVID-19 restrictions didn’t allow family members to participate, and social distancing measures were followed.

“Never lose pride in who you are, what you do, and the difference that you will make every day,” says Lethbridge Police Chief Shahin Mehdizadeh.

Mehdizadeh welcomed the graduates to a “noble, yet challenging career,” and advised them to allow the values of the LPS to guide them in keeping the public safe.

Acting-Sgt. Marco Pagliericci, a 20-year member of the LPS, was there for his nephew Dayton Pagliericci and helped present him with his badge.
