11th annual Care from the Heart Day Radio-a-thon set for Thursday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The 11^th annual Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation Care from the Heart Day Radio-a-thon is a go for Thursday, February 11.

Six local radio stations, including Today’s Country 95-5 and All Hits B-93, will be joined on the airwaves by frontline healthcare workers, administrators at the Lethbridge hospital, as well as patients to share personal stories of the impact that donations to the CRH Foundation have on the community.

The Radio-a-thon will run from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

“Care from the Heart Day offers our community the opportunity to support the Chinook Regional Hospital,” said CRH Foundation Executive Director, Jason VandenHoek.

“Funds donated to the Foundation touch almost every area of the Chinook Regional Hospital and impact thousands of patient’s lives every day.”

100-percent of the funds raised by the CRH Foundation stay in Lethbridge and will be used in part to fund equipment, programs and educational opportunities for local hospital and health care workers.

Since the first-ever Radio-a-thon more than a decade ago, over $2,300,000 has been raised.

Once again, Bob Balog will serve as Honorary Chair of the Radio-a-thon.

“The Balog family, just like yours, has benefited from the exceptional staff and expertise of the Chinook Regional Hospital. We, like so many of you, have been treated with great compassion and had wonderful care right here in Lethbridge,” Balog said.

“We are so proud of how our hospital has responded to the ongoing pandemic situation and I am honoured to be asked to help ensure this level of service in our community will continue.”

Due to the pandemic and visitor restrictions at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge, in-person donations will not be permitted this year.
