Lethbridge City Council extends mask bylaw to April 30
LETHBRIDGE, AB– Previously, the Community Standing Policy Committee decided that the best thing for Lethbridge City Council should not extend the current mask bylaw in the city.
The mask mandate was first introduced on August 24, 2020, and was set to be in effect until December 31, 2020. In November, it was extended until February 23, 2021.
At Tuesday’s Lethbridge City Council meeting, the motion came back to councillors on what to do with the city-wide mask mandate.
Council chose to shoot down the motion of letting the mandate run out, so councillor Rob Miyashiro proposed his motion to extend the bylaw until December 2021, and that was passed.
