Lethbridge man arrested in connection with drug trafficking

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A 49-year-old Lethbridge man has been charged in connection with drug trafficking.

On April 2, at around 7:30 p.m., patrol members responded to a northside pub after a report of an impaired driver.

While investigating, officers also noticed a male, known to the public and wanted on an outstanding warrant for assault causing bodily harm.

That man, identified by police as Mark Anthony Brown, was subsequently taken into custody. During a search, police seized vials that contained methamphetamine, crack cocaine and carfentanil as well as around $1000 in cash and a cell phone.

Brown has been charged with three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of possession of a controlled substance and breach of a condition of a recognizance. He is currently awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
