Hurricanes take 4-3 overtime loss in Calgary
CALGARY, AB. — After the Hurricanes 3-1 win against the Hitmen on home ice Friday night, the Canes travelled north for the second of three consecutive games for the two teams.
Just over three minutes after puck drop, Calgary’s Josh Prokop landed the first goal of the game, off an assist from Tyson Galloway and it was 1-0 for the Hitmen.
Then less than a minute later, Canes’ Captain Dino Kambeitz and Cael Zimmerman dropped the gloves, earning the pair a five-minute major for fighting. The penalty action continued shortly after, as Calgary’s Orca Wiesblatt was sent to the penalty box for interference.
Mid way through the frame, Liam Kindree tied the game off an assist from Chase Wheatcroft. That tie remained when the buzzer went to end the first period.
