COVID and class updates for local schools

LETHBRIDGE, AB. — COVID-19 continues to impact a number of area schools.

Holy Spirit Catholic School Division has been informed of a case at Catholic Central High School..

Close contacts have been informed and are required to quarantine.

As of Sunday, the division has 11 active cases -four at Catholic Central High School, one at Our Lady of the Assumption School, three at St. Catherine School in Picture Butte, two at St. Francis Junior High School, and one at St. Paul School, requiring the isolation of roughly 340 staff and students.

In the Lethbridge public system…they have multiple new cases at Nicholas Sheran, Park Meadows and Dr. Probe schools.

As well, both Immanuel Christian elementary and Secondary schools will have all their classes move to at-home learning as of today.

Right now, there are three positive cases of COVID-19 at the elementary school requiring 67 per cent students, 71 per cent of teachers and 50 per cent of support staff to quarantine. Three positive cases at the secondary school requires the 47 per cent of students, 50 per cent of teachers and 33 per cent of support staff to isolate at home.
