Tigers top Canes 6-3

LETHBRIDGE, AB– After a 3-0 loss to the Medicine Tigers Friday, the Hurricanes looked to get back to winning ways Saturday.

First Period:

A little over one minute into the first period, #36 Nick McCarry gets his first and the Tigers’ first of the game to go up 1-0.

Hurricanes’ Zack Stringer answered not long after to even up the game at one goal a piece.

Noah Boyko and Liam Kindree assisted.

Cole Clayton responded for the Tigers just over a minute later to go up 2-1.

Before the first frame ended, Justin Hall scored his first of the game to tie up the game once again at 2-2.

Alex Cotton and Alex Thacker assisted.

Second Period:

Carson Hopwo sniped his first of the game near the four-minute mark of the second period to lead 3-2 for the Tigers.

Lukas Svejkovsky scored short-handed to go up 4-2 with six minutes to go in the second.

With under a minute to go before the last intermission, Brett Kemp puts one past the Canes to lead 5-2 going into the third.

Third Period:

The Hurricanes get a goal back after Dino Kambeitz scores his second of the year five minutes into the third.

Tiger’s Noah Danielson scores an empty-net goal to solidify the win.

The three-goal stretch in the second period was too much for the Hurricanes to come back from, Tigers win 6-3. In a losing effort, the Hurricanes outshot the Tigers 41-28.

For their final game of the three-game series, the Canes take on the Tigers once more on Sunday.
